Sadly I can't blame people for being the way they are nowadays. Does it make it right? No. But I can't blame them. Too many games and Iconic IPs have been destroyed in the name of the "woke agenda" and we've learned over the past few years that the "corruption" runs deep that now, even the mere whiff of anything that can be considered woke will send people into a frothing rage. I feel like if we swapped the releases of KCD2 and BG3, while the same major "wokeception" events played out the exact same up until now, BG3 would be getting the exact same backlash despite it's obvious and inevitable success. Frankly these days if a game is labeled as "not conforming with the agenda", than it's most definitely a purchase signal for me. There sequel is massive departure from the original - there are dozens of examples of this game being extremely woke. Even the way all the npcs treat Henry is way worse, all the gross stuff is mostly in act 2 - keep playing and I hope you correct the record.

I spent well over two thousand hours playing the first KCD game. I was such an enthusiastic fan that I even made and released mods for the game. Naturally, I was looking forward to KCD 2 accordingly. But hhe communication from all sides since the game's release has been more than shameful. We had a code of conduct written by a Plaion employee that was clearly part of the woke mindset. Two days later Deep Silver deleted and rewrote it after a big backlash. Then we have a studio boss who wildly insults and belittles even creators who have stood up for his product. Not to mention his other shabby statements and accusations on X. Furthermore, we have a community manager who completely negotiates statements about Henry and KCD's plot that he made 8 years ago. And we obviously have a PR manager who is not doing his job. He should have prevented the drama in the first place. But he prefers to play the victim and cry like a little child. What's left is a never-ending slanging match that is anything but good publicity for the game. So, I'm not boycotting the game because of culture war and woke ideology, it's the treatment of critics and gamers by Vavra and others of Warhorse and Plaion which is unacceptable. This is not a positive way to advertise a product. If the makers are begging me not to buy the game, then I'm happy to comply. Simple and Easy. I'm obviously not alone in this opinion and I can understand anyone who is pissed off by such a treatment and behavior. So, please don't tell me that everyone who boycotts the game is an idiot. That's an insult to the intelligence of people with a different view of things. In my view, the real idiots are those who, despite everything that has happened, continue to throw their money down these people's throats. I 100% agree. By taking this approach, they are turning into the very thing they swore to destroy. Ok, so the devs say one thing but then backtrack. Does that hurt your gaming experience? Nope. Because you can choose to avoid it altogether. There is no choice in games like TLOU2, DA: Veilguard, Suicide Squad.... All the agenda pushing is in your face and you can't avoid it. There are plenty of games coming out that still need to be called out for the unbiased push of propaganda. But KCD2 isn't one of them. Just as the people that call everyone -ists and -phobes ultimately hurt their causes with making outlandish claims, these people are doing the same with the anti-woke movement. Their work, up to this point, has been valid, but this is a step too far. And if they don't real it in, they will see people walking away from the cause rather than supporting it.
